The Forum

The Forum is proud to partner with the Wallach Art Gallery to present a public preview of their summer 2021 exhibition, The Protest and The Recuperation, curated by Betti-Sue Hertz, Director and Chief Curator of the gallery. The exhibit, which features 10 contemporary artists from around the world, is a focused survey of artistic perspectives and responses to the global phenomenon of mass protest, as well as recuperative strategies of resistance.

The preview runs February 10 through April 4 and includes a selection of 11 pieces from the upcoming exhibit. The work on view, which includes an artist's video, a sculpture, and nine reproductions of works in the exhibition, is visible from the sidewalks along Broadway and W. 125th Street. While The Forum building remains closed due to the pandemic, we are pleased to display these powerful pieces of art in our windows for all to experience and contemplate.

Following its preview at The Forum, The Protest and The Recuperation will be on full display in the Wallach Art Gallery, across the street from The Forum, this June through August. For more information about the preview please visit https://wallach.columbia.edu/protest-and-recuperation-preview.
