Help a neighbor stay warm this winter! The Columbia Community Service 2023 Coat Drive will run from Wednesday, November 8 to Wednesday, December 20, 2023, and will help meet an increased need in our local community for warm winter apparel. Please bring a new or gently used coat, hat, gloves, or scarf to one of the many donation locations on Columbia, Barnard, and Teachers College campuses.

Donations will benefit the following Columbia Community Service grantee organizations:

  • Broadway Community assists those in need of food and produce pantries, medical services, and clothing distribution.
  • Cathedral Community Cares operates a Clothing Closet, which distributes emergency clothing through the Nutrition, Health, and Clothing Center.

Columbia Community Service supports nonprofit organizations through the generosity of faculty, staff, and retirees of Columbia, Barnard, and Teachers College. With funds raised from the Annual Appeal campaign, CCS provides grants to programs in Harlem and Morningside Heights that combat hunger, provide social services, support the arts, and offer educational enrichment for youth in STEM, arts, and literacy.

For more than seven decades, 100 percent of these donations have been provided directly to our community partners and neighbors in need. In addition, CCS facilitates in-kind contributions, volunteer opportunities, and workshops that connect our University community to grantees. Donate to the 77th Annual Appeal today.
