The Forum opened in 2018 as one of the first buildings on Columbia's developing Manhattanville campus. Open to the entire University as well as the local Harlem community, The Forum is a unique gathering space that brings together scholars, artists, and community leaders from an array of fields.
From Taste of Harlem, where local restauranteurs showcased their menus, to Sweet Taste of Liberty, which explored the life of activist Henrietta Woods, to Such Sweet Thunder, which celebrated jazz music through ballet performance -- events at The Forum have spanned a variety of art forms, interests and community needs. Since opening, The Forum has served as a Covid-19 vaccine hub, an Early Voting polling location, and home to Community Board 9 meetings. We also regularly host career expos, community days, and town halls.
Join us as we celebrate The Forum’s 5th anniversary with a week of programs celebrating the community that has helped shape our first few years in the neighborhood.
