The magic of the Morningside Lights lives on through the month of October. A selection of handmade lanterns created for this year's celebration will be displayed at the Forum for all to explore the collective creations of the Morningside Lights community. This year’s theme, The Reimagined Monument, is an opportunity to rethink the convention of public statuary and create new monuments that speak to the current moment, shared past, and hopes for the future.
Since Morningside Lights first set off through the park in 2012, its core mission has been to bring people together in a shared act of artistic expression. The experience features collectively building, displaying, and witnessing large one-of-a-kind handmade lanterns, bringing light and life back to public space.
